Wilson

Chess at Wilson Elementary 2017-18

CHESS CLUB is for kids 2nd* grade and up who like to play chess but without the tournament/practice requirements. New Club members must demonstrate mastery of basic skills** prior to their first meeting. Club members always have the option of moving to Team if they’d like to give tournaments a try. Tuesdays, 3:00 – 4:15

*Kids in pre-K to 1st grade may attend Chess Club with a parent.
**Parents of kids who’d like to learn basic skills: contact us about our next Chess 101 workshop. In the meantime, check out this great video from Chesskid.com—everything new players need to know in just nine minutes!

CHESS TEAM is for players of any age or skill level who want to improve their chess skills. Team players must attend monthly tournaments and complete practice requirements each week. Tuesdays, 3:00 – 4:45

Volunteer with Wilson Chess!
You don’t have to be a chess player to give kids the chance to learn and benefit from chess. We need volunteers to help on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:15. No chess knowledge/experience is necessary. There will always be someone in the room who can answer chess questions.

Questions? Rebecca Rutledge at rebecca@youthchessok.org or (405) 642-6136.
