Upcoming camps & tournaments

All three Winter Chess Camp events are appropriate for all skill levels from unrated to 1500.
(note: the minimum age is 7 for all events. We regret we cannot make exceptions.)

Winter chess camp + bughouse! Monday, December 23 9:00 AM–4:00 PM $38
The usual learning & fun with our expert coaches, plus a just-for-fun unrated bughouse tournament!

Winter chess camp + New Year’s Special!
Thursday & Friday, Jan. 2 & 3 9:00 AM–4:00 PM $72 (includes both days)
Chess camp plus two days of rated matches!
7 rounds of g30/d5 followed by 5 rounds of g5 blitz
SECTIONS: U1500 (rated by USCF and CXR), U800 (rated by CXR).
Players rated under 800 may play up to the USCF-rated section, provided they have a current U.S. Chess membership.
PRIZES: Trophies for 1st & 2nd place in each section, medals for winning half or more matches.

All three days of winter chess camp: $102. Extended care is available (7:30-5:30) for $10/day and must be arranged in advance. Siblings who register together are given a 15 percent discount. BIRTHDAY SPECIALS Free for players with a birthday that month! Everybody else: $38.

SPRING BREAK CHESS CAMP Monday–Friday, March 16–20
Join us for a full five days of chess education, rated matches, workshops with guest coaches, expert match analysis with Coach Joe Veal, and a two-day tournament on Thursday & Friday!  $152/full week, $102 Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, $72 Thursday & Friday

Camp & tournament information:
Drop off at 9:00 AM, pick up between 3 and 4 PM. Pack a lunch & snacks to last the day.  Note: Space is limited. Advance registration is required. Camps & tournaments are held in a private home near downtown Oklahoma City. We’ll send you the address, a maps link, and other camp information once you’ve submitted your registration.

To register a player, send an email to rebecca@youthchessok.org with the player’s name & age + the dates for which you’d like to sign up. 

For rated tournament registrations: If your player is rated under 800 but has a current US Chess membership and would like to play up to the USCF-rated section, be sure to tell us. Otherwise, all players will be placed in sections based on their current USCF or CXR rating, whichever is highest.
